Sanding And Finish

Refinishing
Turn your old floors into new ones. In California there is a good chance that your house has a hardwood floor sub floor especially if the house was built in the 1960's or before. Check under that old carpet and if you see wood planking (usually red oak) then you are on your way to a beautiful hardwood floor. Professional tools such as the drum sander (220v) and the edger both with vacuum bags are used to sand the hardwood floor. Three levels of sandpaper are used starting with rough, then medium onto fine. In between these sandings your floor will have putty applied to it to fill in all gaps and nail holes. Next comes the buffer with a fine 120 - 150 grit screen attached and scraping and hand sanding of corners and edges. After a good vacuum and cleaning the hardwood floor is ready for three coats of urethane floor finish.

Sanding and Finishing
Choose any species of wood (oak, maple, brazillian cherry, walnut, pine etc). We can get any of these products and more then after installation we sand the raw wood and finish to make the perfect hardwood floor. Solid hardwood floors can be sanded several times so your floor can be beautiful for a lifetime.

Staining
If your floor is sanded or re sanded then you can change the natural color of the wood by applying a stain as a first coat. Simply choose a color maybe to match an existing floor or furniture perhaps.

Buff and Coat
If your wood floor is in decent shape then we can do a light sanding (with a buffer and screen) which takes away surface scratches and cleans up a dirty floor. We then apply a coat of urethane floor finish to keep that new look. This can be done in a day and at a low cost.

Floor maintenance and cleaning
The days of waxing or oiling your hardwood floor are gone. Use a soft broom, vacuum with soft attachment or swiffer to clean up any dust or dirt then use a damp (not wet) mop and your floor is cleaned. After a new floor is installed or finished use felt furniture pads under your furniture to protect your new hardwood floor.
